The Unconformity > Artist in Residence Programme (Australia)

The Unconformity is a professional, community-based arts organisation located in Queenstown, West Coast Tasmania. Their principal activity is a biennial contemporary arts festival, supported by a constantly evolving programme of artist-led explorations.

With the support of Arts Tasmania, The Unconformity is providing an opportunity for Artists working in any artform to conduct a residency in Queenstown, in remote western Tasmania, Australia.

The Unconformity Artist in Residence Program provides artists with time and support to research, build relationships and focus on their practice in the provocative West Coast environment.

Residencies generally last about 2.5 weeks. They are open to Tasmanian, Australian and International artists. Residencies will take place for a negotiated period during the 2020 calendar year. Artists will be supported with:

  • AUD$2,500 artist fee (~1500 EUR).

  • AUD$500 materials budget (~300 EUR).

  • In-kind accommodation.

  • Per diem.

  • A contribution towards travel.
