Through this call, the Climate Heritage Network is urging climate negotiators at the upcoming Cop28 summit (30 November-12 December) in the United Arab Emirates to include cultural heritage, the arts, and creative sectors in climate policy.

‘I am a dancer from Slovenia. I have a show in France and the organiser asked me to get an A1 certificate. What is it? How can I get it?’ This is one of the examples of the many questions Mobility Info Points (or MIPs) receive from artists and culture professionals who are mobile in Europe and internationally. Mobility Info Points are organisations that help artists and culture professionals with the administrative issues of cross-border mobility, through free information and/or consultation services. Key issues include visas, social insurance, taxes, and customs.

After participating in the Cultural Mobility Forum in Tunis, 10 selected participants took part in a two-day workshop whose aim was to empower them and their related entities/communities to delve further into different artistic mobility and international opportunities.

On 26th of October 2023, the first day of WOMEX 2023 edition, the conference joined forces with the cultural mobility information network, On the Move, Tamizdat, and cultural advocate Marie Fol (both OTM members), to host the first ‘Cultural and Artistic Mobility Advocacy Summit.’

Together with 70 networks and organisations from across the Culture and Creative Sectors and Industries (CCSIs) and under the guidance of Culture Action Europe, On the Move has co-signed this letter as we are all deeply concerned by the proposed budget cuts of €40 million to the Creative Europe work programme 2024.

The team at On the Move are humbled and thrilled to receive this award of Professional Excellence from WOMEX.

The last General Assembly of On the Move that was held online on 13 April 2023 acknowledged the end of the mandate for Marie Fol as the President of On the Move. In Tunis on 8th of May, the Board elected its new President, Bojana Panevska and secretary Stéphane Segreto-Aguilar.

Alongside more than 190 cultural organisations, On the Move are calling for the Commission’s support on a US proposal that would increase the filing fees for artist visas, lengthen processing delays and limit the number of beneficiaries per petition.

The 2023 edition of the Cultural Mobility Forum is an attempt to (re)contextualise the conversation on cross-border artistic mobility and environmental sustainability, unfolding the interdependencies between privileged (Western) Europe and other territories, investigating local practical sustainable solutions (e.g. on time, resources, well-being, local networks management) and listening to a variety of voices from the Global South.

Today, On the Move together with 15 other international cultural networks, launched the SHIFT eco-certification pilot phase. The aim of this process is to co-develop a bespoke eco-certification for cultural networks, taking into account their specific needs and working methods.
