    Thoughtworks Arts: Artist Residency in the Californian Desert (USA)
    Thoughtworks Arts seeks two artists-in-residence for separate but parallel residencies on-site at Mars.college, an educational programme, R&D Lab and off-grid residential community in the desert area of Bombay Beach, California. Artists are invited to apply to develop a project on one of two themes: ‘Speculative Futures - Do It There, Take It Back To The Neighborhood’ or ‘Alternative AI Creative Infrastructures - The Sky’s The Limit’. Mandatory dates of the programme run from 1 January to 31 March 2023.

    The Federal Ministry of Austria: Arts and Culture, Civil Service and Sport (BMKOES), Division Arts and Culture, in cooperation with the MAK – Austrian Museum of Applied Arts, Vienna, is going to award a total of six scholarships for residency at the Mackey Apartments, Los Angeles, in 2023/2024. These scholarships are open to freelance artists, advanced students of architecture, and graduates of architecture immediately after completion of their degree. The scholarship is also open to teams of up to 3 persons.

    DePOT: Artist Fellowships, ‘Deindustrialization and the Politics of Our Time’ (Canada)
    The DePOT Artist in Residence (DePOT AIR) programme supports creative engagements with the historical roots and lived experience of deindustrialization. The organisers are interested in proposals that range across the performing, creative and visual arts, are rooted in deindustrialized areas in Italy, France, Germany, the UK, the US or Canada and that speak to the impact, and legacy, of mine, mill and factory closures. The creative work generated will be showcased in the artist’s home community as well as at the DePOT Project Assembly in June 2023 in Montreal, Canada.
