D6: Culture in Transit

D6: Culture in Transit is an international visual arts producer based in Newcastle, UK. They bring together excellent artists to create art that reflects a place and its people. They seek to sustainably develop communities by connecting threads between shared experiences in their city and region and those internationally.

D6 support artists to develop their work, through research, residencies and commissioning, and to work with other organisations internationally to share knowledge and experiences. They are interested in the societal and environmental issues that both unite and divide us.

    Artists Connecting in Transition: Virtual Exhibition, ‘Belonging’ (Online)
    This is an open call for 8 multidisciplinary artists with lived experience of forced migration, exile, or displacement based anywhere in the world who are interested in taking part in the virtual exhibition ‘Belonging’ as part of the project Artists Connecting in Transition (ACT). Artworks in any medium are welcome, as long as they can be presented digitally. Work will take place between July - December 2023.

    Artists Connecting in Transition: Residencies for Artists in Exile in Jordan, Turkey and the UK
    Artists Connecting in Transition (ACT) is a new international programme for artists in exile, centring on artistic practice and international exchange in the context of significant global challenges and inequalities around forced migration, exile and displacement. Funded by the British Council, ACT sets out to create environments of care, creativity and support for artists whose practice has been disrupted through forced migration.
