Artists Connecting in Transition (ACT) is a new international programme for artists in exile, centring on artistic practice and international exchange in the context of significant global challenges and inequalities around forced migration, exile and displacement. Funded by the British Council, ACT sets out to create environments of care, creativity and support for artists whose practice has been disrupted through forced migration.
From September 2022, ACT’s programme of in-person and online activities will include six artist residencies in UK, Turkey and Jordan, international workshops, a digital launch of artworks and local exhibitions.
D6: Culture in Transit (Newcastle upon Tyne, UK), Arthereistanbul (Istanbul, Turkey) and MedeArts (Irbid, Jordan) with support from the Fanak Fund are looking to select and host artists with lived experience of forced migration, exile or displacement currently based in each country.
