The EPFL (École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne) College of Humanities artist residency aims to foster transdisciplinary encounters and collaborations between artists and EPFL’s scientific community. Up to four artists will be selected for 3-month residencies at the EPFL in four sub-programmes: Open Transdisciplinary, Scientific Imaging, Environmental Transformation, and Explorations in Geometry, Computation, and Matter.

Each year, TaDA offers a work stay in Switzerland to six to eight national and international personalities. The residents develop innovative projects in the fields of art, design, architecture, literature, the performing arts or in transdisciplinary contexts. Next residency periods are April to June 2024 and September to November 2024.

Collide Copenhagen residency award is the new collaboration framework between CERN and Copenhagen Contemporary that aims to support artistic research on art, science and technology. Artists from any country in the world are invited to submit an application proposing a project that combines research and production of a new work to develop during a two-month residency from October - November 2023.

Each year, Theater Ida invites two improv performers to come to Zurich for ten days as Ida Improv Artists in Residence. The next residency will take place from 29 September – 8 October 2023. Usually, Theater Ida invite two improvisers who already know each other, but who do not normally get to work together, for instance because they live and work in different places.

During three days from 11-13 August 2023 the old crematorium in Bern, its surrounding urn corridors, as well as the two chapels will be activated with a multi-layered festival programme. KREMA-Festival 2023 invites up to 15 artistic proposals that dare to locate themselves at an interface between life and death and simultaneously illuminate the site of the crematorium in a creative way. These contributions may be in the form of exhibitions, installations, performances, concerts, workshops, or other more hybrid forms.

Up to eight residents are invited to join the Sommerakademie Paul Klee (SPK) programme, curated by cultural worker Andrea Thal, and beginning on 12 August 2023. Over the course of 2023 & 2024, the SPK features public lectures, closed-door seminars, and access to state-of-the-art infrastructure and technical support at the Bern Academy of the Arts (HKB) – but also teaching opportunities at the HKB.

School of Commons (SoC) is looking for groups and individuals who would like to conduct their research and practice as a part of the SoC community and informal study programme from May 2023 - February 2024. This includes bi-weekly meetings and an overall estimated time commitment of 4 days per month, with most work taking place online.

The goal of EPFL’s residency programme is to explore new ways in which to apply their research results for creative expression by collaboratively creating an art piece or design prototype that will be exhibited and publicised in appropriate venues. The residency at the Geometric Computing Laboratory can last for up to three months, starting in March 2023 at the earliest.

ALTER- is a 2-3 month residency in Chandolin, a village perched at an altitude of 2000 meters in the Val d’Anniviers in the Swiss Alps, that invites one transdisciplinary team of 3-5 artists and researchers to rethink and respond to growing environmental crises and their associated social, economic, and cultural shifts. The next residency takes place either for 3 months from 5 June – 30 August 2023 or for 2 months from 3 July – 30 August 2023

Tanzplattform Bern 2023 is an international dance festival and competition for choreographers, with two awards: a jury award for a commission for Bern Ballett; and an audience award for a movement research fellowship. The chosen choreographers will be invited to perform their entire dance pieces in Bern during one evening (22 or 23 June 2023) and to perform a 5 min. excerpt of it on 24 June 2023.
