The Gwangju Media Art Platform (G.MAP) and Seoul Metropolitan Government are collaboratively organising an international open call for media facade artworks to be simultaneously exhibited in two cities – Gwangju and Seoul from 24 November 2023 – 31 March 2024.

For its eleventh edition, the 2023-24 Geumgang Nature Art Biennale aims to create a new discourse on nature art, and calls for artworks under the theme of ‘Shelter in the Forest II’. Artists can submit model drawings that will be presented at the 2023 Geumgang Nature Art Biennale Project Exhibition, running 26 August – 15 October 2023, with selected projects then supported to be fully realised in 2024.

DongGang International Photo Festival invites submissions for its 21st edition, to be held this year from 21 July – 24 September 2023 in Yeongwol, Korea. This year’s theme is ‘The Magical Unknowns’. One ‘Artist of the year’ will receive a solo exhibition at DIPF and be invited to the opening.

ACC is calling for experimental works of performance to be part of ACT Festival (10-19 November 2023). Local and international artists (individuals or teams of up to 3 people) are eligible to apply.

Art Center Nabi’s residency programme will run 14 August – 6 October 2023. It is organised in collaboration with Misk Art Institute, and is open to international artists interested in ‘East’ at the intersection of Art, Technology and Society.

Wonju City of Literature offers an opportunity for one writer from another UNESCO city of literature to come for an 8 week residency (1 September – 31 October 2023) at Toji Cultural Centre. Applicants must have at least B2 level in English.

The Asia Culture Center (ACC) in Gwangju, Korea is seeking participants for its 2023 ACC Residency, which will take place over approximately six months from May – October 2023, with a showcase in November 2023. The reorganised 2023 programme is being carried out in conjunction with the ACC Sound Art Lab, which in 2023 is launching the project ‘Futures of Listening’ to research the sounds of Asia and Asian cities.

The Song of the Wind project in Wando, South Korea aims to connect sustainable fishing village practices, the marine ecosystem, conservation, arts, and the social economy with contemporary public art integral to the fishing village. Artists, ecological activists, and scholars of all disciplines whose work explores the theme of ‘marine ecosystem & seaweed farming’ are invited to apply for a residency of 1-3 months during May – June 2023 or September – November 2023.

Antikythera’s five-month speculative design-research Studio will run from February to June 2023. Studio Researchers from diverse professional backgrounds will take part in collaborative design briefs, theory seminars, and technical workshops to create projects contributing to a growing body of research building on the programme’s theme of ‘planetary computation’. Activities take place in Los Angeles, Mexico City and Seoul.

The Asia Culture Center (ACC) is calling for artists, creators, and researchers across the world to participate in the 2022 ACC Residency(ACC_R) programmes. The 2022 ACC Residency focuses on ‘the post-COVID-19 era and post-humanism’.

Bucheon City of Literature in South Korea are launching a residency programme of for writers, translators and cartoonists of comics and graphic novels. The residency is for writers and artists who live in member cities of the UNESCO Creative Cities Network or who have been recommended by the Creative Cites offices. It will run over 7 weeks.

DongGang International Photo Festival invites you to submit your work for its 20th edition, to be held this year from 22 July – 9 October 2022 in Yeongwol, South Korea. One artist or team will be awarded as Artist of the Year and invited to attend the opening of the festival.
