CreaTures is calling for creative practitioners who are working on topics of sustainability and inequality that include or build on long-term partnerships. Applicants need to have been working in a particular locale for longer than 18 months at the time of the award, on topics that touch on both inequality and sustainability in any creative medium. The selected applicants will be supported for a year-long process of research and documentation culminating in a final sharing in Barcelona in July 2022.

Inter Arts Center (IAC) and KØS invite artists whose practices evolve around public space, extended reality, world building and/or immersive technologies to apply for this open call with new bold projects or adaptions of existing works. In addition to project funding, the winning applicant will receive a long-term residency at IAC in Lund, Sweden.

The Enclave Land Art residency invites submissions that focus on the dialogue between human beings and nature to create an artistic land art itinerary in the area of Vall de Gallinera, Spain. The residency will run 22 November - 5 December 2021.

DiffMix started in 2020 with the idea of bringing citizens and artists together to transform public places in Differdange, Luxembourg. Citizens identified online and offline five places that they wanted to transform and what their needs were. Now it’s up artists, designers and creatives from Europe to propose how these transformations can take place, and how they can be realised together with the citizens of Differdange.

Through a collaboration with Stalker, Circolo Scandinavo invites Nordic artists and researchers to join local inhabitants, artists, architects, and experts, for a collective exploration of unused or abandoned urban sites in Rome. The residency will last 6-8 weeks, running 23 October - 18 December 2021.

Tsung-Yeh Arts and Cultural Center is located in the Madou district, on the northern outskirts of Tainan city, in an old sugar refinery that has been infused with multicultural ideas to form a unique space. The theme for the Center’s 2022 residency programme is ‘Site-Specific Art’. Artists working in visual art, performing art, installation, interdisciplinary contemporary art are invited to apply. Residencies last 45-90 days and take place in the period 21 February 2022 - 30 August 2022.

Organised by Kultur- und Kunstverein Kemberg e.V., the Passage AiR programme is held in the Dübener Heide – the Düben Heath Nature Park – in Germany. Under the theme ‘Status Landscape’, two residencies in November 2021 will enable artists working in photography or film to pursue artistic site-specific artistic work and lead a workshop for young people. Open to national and international applications.

The music and city festival Station Narva, scheduled to take place on 5-7 August 2021, has launched an open call for an urban art competition in collaboration with the Narva Museum Art Gallery and the Narva Art Residency (NART). Sculptures, installations, urban furniture, street art, outdoor exhibitions or other objects that enrich the public space and are defined by a specific location in Narva are welcome to enter the competition.

minus20degree (m20d), an initiative that promotes art and architecture from around the world, is looking for artists in the field of sound art, videoart, performance, theatre, installation, or dynamic land art. All art works need to be conceptualised especially for minus20degree and will be presented in the village of Flachau, outside and at sites exposed to the elements. Temperatures might be as low as minus 20 degrees, but it can also rain.

Within the framework of the long-term project Visual Arts (V.A.) Initiator of Eleusis 2023 European Capital of Culture, Delta Pi announces an open call for artists from the field of visual arts in public space (installation, video art, performance, sculpture, etc.). The programme focuses on the concept of ‘Initiation as Methodology’ and is planned to take place in two phases, June-July and October 2021.

REAKTOR, a privately run transdisciplinary art institution based in Vienna, is calling for conceptual proposals for a visual arts project that will respond to the architecture of the organisation’s main hall. The chosen artists will be invited to flesh out and implement their submitted concept as part of a 1 week residency in summer 2021, and then showcase it to the public as part of an exhibition in October 2021.
