The Enclave Land Art residency invites submissions that focus on the dialogue between human beings and nature to create an artistic land art itinerary in the area of Vall de Gallinera, Spain. The residency will run 7-20 November 2022.

IS.LAND is a two-week (12-26 September 2022) intensive residency programme organised by BJCEM on the island of Procida in the framework of Procida Capitale Italiana della Cultura 2022. The call is open to artists under 35 and from the Mediterranean area.

In cooperation with ROSA, SNYK, project NEUSTART and The Dome, Aarhus Festival is inviting participants to compose a site-specific piece of music for The Dome in Aarhus. The festival will appoint a German and a Danish artist to create two pieces in total.

The main objective of BKN (Björkö Konstnod) is to provide an opportunity to focus on artistic practice while experiencing life in the Northern Archipelago of Stockholm - a peaceful rural milieu where the sea meets the forest, fields, and lakes. MAGNITUDE, BKN’s process based residency, is offering grants to two international artists selected to join a 6-8 week programme in August – September 2022.

That Other Place is a paid commission opportunity for a queer identifying artist or arts collective from eligible countries to create a major new extended reality artwork. This will be shared with online and face-to face audiences at b-side festival which takes place from 8-11 September 2022 on the Isle of Portland, Dorset, UK.

For the 9th Kjerringøy Land Art Biennale 23/24 Special Edition, professional, international artists are invited to apply to come and make place-specific land art projects. Selected artists will be invited to stay for two longer periods – early summer 2023 and 2024. The idea is that each artist plan and develop a site-specific work of art ready for presentation in summer 2024.

For the 2022 ‘Passage’ Artist-in-Residence programme, the Kultur- und Kunstverein Kemberg e.V. is calling for photography- and film-based applications from both national and international artists. There are two residencies available for June 2022, with one residency awarded to a female artist who is also a mother.

In 2022, Begehungen festival take place in an indoor swimming pool including slides, sauna and outdoor pool with an extensive surrounding grounds. The organisers are looking for artists of all genres and forms of expression who feel inspired by the location and this year’s theme ‘PLANSCH’ (‘SPLASH’). The festival will open on 14 July 2022, with residencies taking place for 4 weeks beforehand.

REAKTOR, a privately run transdisciplinary art institution based in Vienna, is calling for conceptual proposals for a visual arts project that will respond to the architecture of the organisation’s main hall. The chosen artists will be invited to flesh out and implement their submitted concept as part of a 1 week residency in summer 2022, and then showcase it to the public as part of an exhibition in autumn 2022.

Supergau festival in Salzburg in Austria is calling for artistic projects in outdoor space. Selected applicants will be invited for a residency period in the lead up to the festival in May 2023.

For the Wild Bits exhibition, Maajaam is offering a residency for artists to create technological art installations consisting of sounds, lights, texts, sculptures or their online counterparts that can be placed in natural spaces like forests, fields, swamps and lakes. The residency will take place 7-28 July 2022. Produced works will remain in Maajaam and will be displayed at satellite exhibitions in Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania until 2025.

Open Sites is a cross-border cooperation between three territories on either side of the French-Belgian border: Ypres, Comines-Warneton, and Villeneuve d’Ascq. The project now seeks submissions from artists or groups (max. 3 people) who would like to undertake a residency at one of the sites and create original work that responds to the place and an accompanying theme. Residencies take place during May-July and September-October 2022.
