CIMAM’s 2021 conference, ‘Under Pressure. Museums in Times of Xenophobia and Climate Emergency’, will be held in Lodz and Gdansk, Poland from 5-7 November 2021. Grants are available to support in-person or online attendance for individuals residing in the countries of the former Soviet Union, the Northeast Asia region, the African continent, Spain, and the Eurasian Economic Union.

The Agora Cultural Center in Wrocław in cooperation with artistic organisations from the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Hungary and Poland invites participation in an open call as part of the international Open Air Theater Festival. The call is open to theatre makers, with a special focus on circus performers, acrobats, performers, dancers and musicians under the age of 26 and from the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Hungary and Poland. The residency will run 12-18 September 2021, with participants working together to create (and finally show) a new performance on the theme of climate change.

The ‘Public Transport as Public Space’ (PUTSPACE) project’s Summer Symposium will take place in Görlitz/Zgorzelec, Germany/Poland, on October 27 – 31 2021. Researchers, artists, writers, filmmakers and others are invited to apply with contributions related to the topic ‘Diverse Narrations, Experiences and Contestations of Public transport in European Cities’.

Artists-In-Residence Programme of the Municipal Gallery bwa in Bydgoszcz is international in character and aimed at artists from Poland and abroad who are willing to take on the subject of Bydgoszcz multiculturalism in experimental and innovative ways. They are interested in the city as a text of culture and are curious about relationships between symbolic and aesthetic functions of the city. Since relationships with the audience are important to the gallery, they are looking for projects with educational potential that allow for contact or even direct action with creators.

Katowice, within the European project CreArt, is opening a new call for artistic works interpreting the theme of an exhibition on ‘Weightlessness’, taking place from 23 July to 12 September 2021. Applications are open only to artists born or residing in other cities participating in the CreArt project: Aveiro (PT), Clermont – Ferrand (FR), Genoa (IT) for artists under 35, Kaunas (LT), Liverpool (UK), Lublin (PL), Rouen (FR), Skopje (MK), Valladolid (ES), Zagreb (HR).

The Nature of Us open call is aimed at artists working and living in the Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland or Slovakia who are working on a movement or body-based performance project in 2021 or 2022 that confronts art practices with concerns about the environment. Among other forms of support, the project offers a two-week artistic research session in Bratislava, Budapest, Gdansk, or Prague in the second half of 2021 or the first half of 2022.

Unsound Festival in Poland has announced its 2021 theme ‘dəəp authentic’ with a call for applications from artists, writers, theorists and activists, with a focus on presentations that blur the line between discourse and performance. Work can be presented in person in Krakow or remotely. The festival will take place between 13-17 October 2021.

Footprints – Sustainable Music Across Europe is addressed to young and motivated artists willing to develop their artistic and entrepreneurial skills as well as develop their touring and networking capacity. 50 participants will be selected to take part in the Intl Jazz Platform summer workshop in Lodz (17-22 July 2021), out of which 6 participants will be selected to take part in the Footprints international tours and mentoring programme.

Teatre Lliure in Barcelona and Nowy Teatr International Cultural Centre in Warsaw are looking for a research project in tangential fields of the performing arts that could be fuelled by the interaction between Poland and Catalonia, Spain. One applicant will be chosen from Catalonia and one from Poland to collaborate with residencies in the two regions in March and April 2022.

The Room to Bloom platform will collectively select a group of 100 emerging feminist artists to participate in a mix of trainings, workshops and talks throughout the year. Programme activities run mostly online June - November 2021. Selected participants will also be offered the possibility to propose works for production (15 works selected) later this year, to be presented during international events and exhibitions (Palermo, Kyiv Biennale, Warszawa Biennale, AthenSyn Festival).

Generator Malta is the curatorial programme of the Malta Festival Poznań. The organisers are looking for ideas for performative, site-specific or sound pieces, animations, installations, interventions or workshops reflecting on property rights and law in relation to the land/ground and the use of its resources. Every day a different resident will be given their own piece of independent land for 48 hours at Wieniawski Park in Poznań.

The IMPROVISA - Life in Motion Consortium invites EU artists to submit proposals with new approaches to engage audiences in cultural and heritage contents through the principles of improvisation and the use of mobile technologies. Applicants must belong to one of the EU member states. The organisers are looking for artists with experience in video and photography, and also those who work in sound art and sampler editing.
