On the Move is very happy to have confirmed the support from the Mission of the People Republic of China to the EU in Brussels to produce an online guide for young European artists and cultural professionals for their first mobility experience in China! This guide will be available from January 2014 on On the Move’s website. On the Move is now calling for EU based artists and cultural professionals to tell us about their first mobility experience in China. Deadline (extended): 4th November.

The presentation of this report, coordinated by the EU Working Group on Arts and Human Rights (ARJ)*, was with its author, Mme Farida Shaheed, UN Special Rapporteur in the field of Cultural Rights on 2nd of October 2013 in Brussels (Belgium) at the European Parliament.

This presentation about On the Move and funding opportunities for the mobility of Indonesian artists/cultural professionals will be made by Marie Le Sourd on 3 September at 7.30pm at Cemeti Art House. Selected art and cultural managers have been invited to attend this information session.

On the Move will be part of the public panel on 26 October 2013 on “Cultural Diversity vs Administrative Frontiers, Visas for touring world musicians?”, together with representatives from the Welsh government in Brussels, Nueva Onda, Zone Franche and Tamizdat.

In August 2012 the On the Move team presented a new exciting curatorial journey of the website culture360.org, dedicated to “arts and the envionment”. Have a good reading!

As of April 2012, On the Move has a new media partner: Chiediteatro, the Italian Web-based information site for theatre and performing arts professionals, with a special focus on “backstage” professionals. Every month Chiediteatro will publish a selection of OTM news translated into Italian on its Webzine section. Teneteli d’occhio!
