New international Encounter: Call for Site-specific Land Art (Norway)

Aerial view of Dikemark in Norway - a few larger buildings nestled among trees, by the waterside.

Kunstarena Dikemark – Land Art 2023 is an international, interdisciplinary, and site-specific platform for land art established with support from the municipality of Asker and Viken County in Norway.

With this open call, artists are invited to make site-specific Land Art projects in the scenic surroundings of the former psychiatric hospital in Dikemark, Norway.

Submissions should focus on the dialogue between human beings and nature to create a Land Art project. 8-10 projects will be selected from different artistic disciplines that will be developed and produced in the natural environment during the residency, sharing experiences, ideas, and a common goal.

All projects must take into consideration people’s interest in contemporary arts, aiming to give greater value to the area of Dikemark, promoting a deep and permanent conscience about the historical, cultural and traditional aspects of the area through a dialogue between art and nature. The exhibition will run 25 August – 9 September 2023.

3 projects will be funded @ 30,000 NOK (~2650 EUR) and 7 projects at 10,000 NOK (~620 EUR). Travel up to 6000 NOK (~530 EUR) and accommodation is provided in the time of making the project.
