National Coalition Against Censorship: Arts and Culture Program Director (USA)

The National Coalition Against Censorship (NCAC), based in New York, is an alliance of more than 50 non-profit organizations dedicated to promoting and protecting freedom of thought, inquiry and expression in the United States.

NCAC is currently seeking a full time Arts and Culture Advocacy Program Director to lead the activities of its newly expanded Arts and Culture Project, formerly the Arts Advocacy Project, the nation’s only initiative exclusively dedicated to artistic freedom. ACP provides direct assistance to artists, curators, theater practitioners, publishers, art teachers and students when they face controversy and censorship, organizes educational events and advocacy campaigns, publishes print and online materials, and develops proactive strategies to promote artistic and cultural freedom and open discourse on a systemic level.

The position is ideal for a candidate with an interest and experience in the arts and culture, advocacy, free speech and public policy.

The salary range for this position is $85,000-$95,000, commensurate with experience. Benefits include health, dental and vision insurance, retirement savings plan, and paid vacation.
