The Bridging Career Take-Off Programme BCTO is designed for DJs-producers, sound artists, sound producers and electronic musicians, musicians with digital music practices, and has both an offline and an online component. Applicants should be resident and/or a citizen of one of the partner countries of the project - Tunisia, France, Albania, and the Balkans.

Orpheus Instituut in Ghent is an international centre of excellence primarily focused on artistic research in music. It is now looking for doctoral researchers who are interested in joining one of the following research clusters: Declassifying the Classics: Technology, Rhetoric, and Performance, 1750–1850; Resounding Libraries: Unfolding Archived Knowledge Through Artistic Research; HIPEX (Historically Informed Performance Practices of Experimental Music); Music, Thought and Technology; Metamusic: Shaping Musical Practices for the Posthuman Age.

For its research residencies, the European project tekhnē welcomes artists, researchers, art educators and cultural workers working with and around autonomous and experimental approaches to technology, and reflections about what can be considered technology. Residency lengths vary between two and six weeks, between December 2023 and December 2024.

OneBeat is accepting applications for OneBeat 13 & 14, two in-person United States-based arts exchange programmes set to run in the spring and autumn of 2024. OneBeat begins with an opening residency, when Fellows collaborate to create original material, record new musical ideas, and incubate new projects. OneBeat Fellows then go on tour, performing for a wide array of American audiences, collaborating with local musicians, and leading workshops with youth.

The University of Johannesburg’s artists in residence programme is now accepting applications for 2024. The UJ Artists in Residence Programme welcomes applications from emerging and established artists, from across the globe, but preferably with a link to Africa. Applications for both physical and remote residencies are possible.

Cabin Studio are calling for three artists to take part in a residency and prepare a composition for the festival Sanatorium Sonorum, which will be held in August 2024 in Cabin Studio Pěčice as a partially open-air event. The residency will run for 38 days from 1 April – 8 May 2024.

This CTM Radio Lab call is open to artists worldwide whose work is relevant to fields of experimental music, sound art, radio art, new radio drama, and performance. Commissioned works will premiere at CTM 2024 Festival in Berlin (26 January – 4 February 2024), and subsequently broadcast on radio. Projects must respond to CTM 2024’s theme of Sustain, and more specifically engage with the emancipatory potential of technology in music and sound art.

Zavod za eksperimentalni zvuk (ZEZ) and KONTEJNER are inviting Croatian and regional (ex-Yugoslavian country) sound artists to apply for the eighth edition of the Exhibition of Sound with their performances, sound installations, audio and A/V artworks, and all other media and experimental artworks which use sound as a constitutive element or main media. This year’s multimedia exhibition is going to be held from 9-16 November 2023 in Zagreb.

The Music In Africa Foundation (MIAF), in partnership with Scènes Australes, invites female event production managers based in Africa and in the Indian Ocean to apply for an opportunity to participate in the 2023 Gender@Work programme. The course will comprise two modules: a Music Business module (online in October 2023) and an Event Production module (in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania from 5-11 November 2023).

AEC - European Association of Conservatoires are recruiting a new Executive Director to start in full function in the office in Brussels from 1 February 2024.

The aim of the ‘Boundary-Crosser’ residency project is to provide an opportunity for artists to explore creative intersections and processes with technologists. Selected artists will be hosted by one of the 8 participating CYENS Centre of Excellence Labs and will generate artistic work, during and after their time of residency. Residencies run 2-4 months.
