Mekong Cultural Hub: Experiments in Community Collaboration (Malaysia / Remote)

Mekong Cultural Hub is calling for applications from community arts practitioners with at least two years of experience to join their learning programme ‘Experiments in Community Collaboration’.

The Experiments in Community Collaboration programme aims to support existing community arts practitioners to develop their skills and practice in working with communities through arts-based processes. A total of 8-10 people (‘Fellows’) will be selected to take part in the programme, which will take place over six months, from June – November 2023. Each Fellow will come to the programme with a specific goal for their own learning, related to something they want to improve or to try out in their community arts practice.

Key information:

  • Designed for: Community arts practitioners with at least 2 years of experience.
  • From: Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar, Taiwan, Thailand, Vietnam.
  • Structure & timeline:
    • Introduction & small group exchange, June and July 2023 (online).
    • Planning & reflection workshop, August 2023 (Kuala Lumpur).
    • Individual learning experiments, September & October 2023 (in participant’s local community).
    • Final reflection workshop, November 2023 (online).
  • Working language: English.

The programme offers all expenses for participating in the Kuala Lumpur workshop, and a $700 USD micro-grant per participant to support a learning experiment.
