Mekong Cultural Hub is arranging a Meeting Point for people concerned with arts and social action in Asia. The theme for this meeting point is ‘Revealing Contexts’. The Meeting Point will take place at C-Lab, Taipei, from 20-22 May 2021.
In preparation for the Meeting Point, MCH are launching an open call for people who would like to take part in three small ‘curated conferences’ that will be part of the Meeting Point programme.
This will involve joining a series of online sessions with a small group of 4-6 others, facilitated by a curator; these sessions will take place between November 2020 and April 2021.
In May 2021, the groups will meet in person in Taipei (all costs covered by MCH) and then share their ideas and exchanges to the wider audience at the Meeting Point.
The topics for the three curated conferences are:
-
‘Artistic action in practice in the Mekong Region’, CHUNG Shefong.
-
‘Perspectives on socially-engaged arts/culture in Asia’, Janet Pillai.
-
‘In the wake of COVID-19: altered contexts and prospects for the arts in Asia’, Anmol Vellani.
Applicants should be citizens of an Asian country.
Deadline: 11 October 2020
