European artists, or collectives can apply to the EMAP residency programme with a project proposal for a residency of two months in 2024. The artists will be collaborating with an artist of their choice or an artist local to the platform’s host institutions.

AUGE NEXT Fellowship Programmes are designed to support young European artists working in various fields of digital media art: immersive art (XR/AR/VR), data visualisation and sonification, AI/ML, and others. A fellowship consists of a 6-month Prototyping & Production period (1 September 2023 – 28 February 2024) including an Onsite Residency (up to 2 weeks long) taking place in one of the hosting countries.

This open call is for contemporary dance artists of Latvia, Lithuania and Estonia to participate in the third Baltic Dance Platform, which will take place Riga, Latvia on 9-11 February 2024. Three performances and five pitch presentations from each Baltic country will be selected to participate in the event.

The #NDPCbootcamp will bring together 10 practitioners from the Cultural and Creative Sectors (CCSs) and 10 practitioners from other sectors in Līgatne, Latvia from 31 May – 4 June 2023 to stimulate cross-sectoral exchange and enhance collaboration skills. Applicants from Denmark, Estonia, Finland, Germany, Iceland, Latvia, Lithuania, Norway, Poland and Sweden can apply. A limited number of travel grants are available for those unable to cover costs.

‘BETA CIRCUS Participatory experience’ aims to create a European transnational opportunity to explore participatory circus as a future trend that can engage the public in circus’ creative process. The call is open to circus artists and collectives (max. 4 people) from Creative Europe countries, and participatory art collectives from Italy, Latvia, Portugal and Serbia.

For more than a hundred years Karosta was a naval base closed to the public. Now, decades after the military has left, Karosta (located in Liepaja, Latvia) is having a second life. Karosta Festival seeks artistic creation processes, exhibitions, concerts, performances and workshops. New artwork will be created during the festival week in Karosta (5-11 June 2023) and presented during three public events 9, 10 and 11 June.

RIXC - Center for New Media Culture is announcing an open call for its new residency programme for Baltic and Nordic artists who work on the edge of art, science and techno-ecologies. Three artist residencies will take place 1 March – 30 April 2023, 1 October – 20 November 2023, and 1 February 2024 – 31 March 2024.

The kuš! Comics Residency is open for applications from February - December 2023! Organised in collaboration with ISSP, kuš! will continue to host comic artists in their residency apartment in the centre of Riga. This is a wonderful opportunity for artists to focus on their personal projects in an inspiring environment away from home. In addition, ISSP is hosting photographers, which creates extra opportunities for interdisciplinary interaction between the residency participants.

NEMO is looking for seven professionals from across Europe to take part in a self-evaluation exercise in Riga, Latvia, from 23-25 November 2022.

Young artists from Latvia, Lithuania and Estonia are invited to submit their work for the Riga Photography Biennial – NEXT 2023 Award ‘Seeking the Latest in Photography!’. The winner of the award will be chosen by an international jury and will have an opportunity to hold a solo exhibition at the ISSP Gallery within the framework of the Riga Photography Biennial in May 2023.

State of the Art Network (SOTAN) is a Nordic-Baltic transdisciplinary network of artists, practitioners, researchers, and organisations who have come together to discuss the role, responsibility, and potential of art and culture in the Anthropocene. Partners from the network are offering a number of opportunities in summer 2022.
