With the CCP Fellowships, the ifa’s CrossCulture Programme (CCP) funds around 100 professionals and committed volunteers from 42 countries each year to deepen their expertise and acquire intercultural skills. Due to the Covid-19 pandemic and ongoing travel restrictions, the scholarship will be offered as a remote fellowship in 2021. The current round of applications is open to residents from India, Nepal, Bhutan, Myanmar, Sri Lanka, and Germany.

Together with the Goethe-Institut and the Martin Roth-Initiative, ifa invites proposals for a research project on the topic of ‘Mobility restrictions for the international relocation of at-risk artists: Learnings for (post-)pandemic times’. The researcher’s study will be published in the form of a written report and the researcher will present interim results at an online workshop. The assignment lasts 4 months starting April 2021.

During two to three months of practical training in host organisations in Germany or in CCP partner countries, participants deepen their expertise and acquire intercultural skills. For the 2021 programme, activities may take place online or in-person, depending on the feasibility of travel. Applicants must be between the ages of 23 and 45 at the time of the application and have good written and spoken English skills.

Ifa (Institut für Auslandsbeziehungen) is currently inviting proposals for a research project titled ‘Culture of Remembrance and Migration: 60 Years of German-Turkish Recruitment Agreement’. The research will start in November 2020 with outputs in the format of a study and workshop. Location of work is flexible.

ifa’s Research Programme ‘Culture and Foreign Policy’ provides experts with an opportunity to study current topics related to Germany’s foreign cultural and educational policy and to work at the interface between theory and practice. Research projects normally last three to six months. During this period, the experts involved in the project provide actors in the area of international cultural relations with clear, concise summaries of the latest academic findings.

Together with the Goethe-Institut and the Martin Roth-Initiative, ifa (Institut für Auslandsbeziehungen) invites proposals for a research project under the topic ‘Development of local/regional shelters for artists at risk’. The selected researcher will produce a short study that will look into issues around developing new relocation initiatives and expanding existing ones, with a specific focus on Latin American and African countries.
