The cultural and civil society organisation zusa is organising residencies in Berlin which will focus on two thematic axes: reflection and re-thinking on the idea of solidarity in Europe; and mental well-being of artists and cultural professionals. The residency is dedicated to artists and cultural professionals based in European countries but with focus on Ukraine, Poland, Romania, Austria, and Germany.

ARS BALTICA, an international cultural initiative for the Baltic Sea Region is seeking an assistant within the ARS BALTICA Secretariat as early as possible latest by 1 November 2023. Working place is the main office at Nordkolleg Rendsburg. Part-time remote work is possible.

IMPACT23 is organising a four-day symposium from 8-12 November 2023 with the theme ‘Ecologies of Attention’. This call is aimed at practitioners and theorists from the fields of the performing and visual arts, science, journalism, technology, activism, social work and architecture who can contribute to the event.

The Haas and Steidinger Craft & Design Residency invites five artists or cultural professionals to St. Georgen in the heart of Black Forest for five months between 1 October 2023 – 29 February 2024. Applications are open to artists or cultural professionals over 18 years old, active and experienced in craft and design, applied to cultural heritage, architecture, scenography and legally residing in one of the 40 Creative Europe countries (except for Germany).

Martin Roth Initiative are supporting artists and cultural actors at risk to temporarily relocate to Germany with the assistance of a host cultural institution. Scholarships awarded through the programme last up to 15 months.

Organised by the contemporary art non-profit basis, the aim of this curatorial residency programme, which will take place 1 February – 31 March 2024, is to introduce new international perspectives to the local art community, enhancing curatorial research, exchange and discourse in Frankfurt. Residents work towards a final exhibition in September-October 2024.

From spring 2024, Spreepark Art Space will offer a residency programme for interdisciplinary artists and collectives of up to 4 people. The three-month residencies are offered in Eierhäuschen, a freshly renovated, historic restaurant, that is a space for artistic production and sustainable and social interaction. The residency periods in 2024 are: 8 April - 21 June 2024, 1 July - 20 September 2024 and 30 September - 13 December 2024.

The international conference ‘Thinking techne’, taking place at the Technische Universität Berlin from 2-4 November 2023. Researchers at all experience levels are invited to apply to participate in the panel discussions to contribute their perspectives based on their individual research and discipline. Early career researchers can also apply for a travel grant to attend the conference.

The Heidelberg UNESCO City of Literature Writer in Residence programme is offering a three-month residency in Neckargemünd (approximately 14 km from Heidelberg). Applicants must have registered residence in a UNESCO City of literature (main grant holder), and have published at least one book (prose, essay, narration, poetry, etc.) by an official/independent publisher (main grant holder).

This CTM Radio Lab call is open to artists worldwide whose work is relevant to fields of experimental music, sound art, radio art, new radio drama, and performance. Commissioned works will premiere at CTM 2024 Festival in Berlin (26 January – 4 February 2024), and subsequently broadcast on radio. Projects must respond to CTM 2024’s theme of Sustain, and more specifically engage with the emancipatory potential of technology in music and sound art.

With funding from the Volkswagen Foundation’s Lower Saxony ‘Vorab’ programme, the HBK Braunschweig is offering a one-year curatorial scholarship starting 1 April 2024. The successful candidate is expected to work with a museum or other art institution in Lower Saxony to conceptualise an exhibition project of his/her own.

Applications are now open to a new residency programme between Beta festival in Dublin and transmediale in Berlin. The two-month residency is open to four artists and will take place in Berlin, Dublin, and online between September and November 2023.
