This study is the result of a six-month research project conducted in partnership with ifa (Institut für Auslandsbeziehungen). It delivers an overview of the EU funding procedures for the promotion of culture in foreign relations, and at explores alternative models of cooperation.
As part of this research project, an experts´ workshop has been organised, in February 2014 in Brussels, to feed into the research project. It gathered several experts and stakeholders from different European and non-European platforms and tackled the following issues: the need for cooperation models that offer an alternative to or complement the cooperation and funding models of the EU; a better coordination among European players and the new models of cultural cooperation with third countries.
