Dancing Together, Again!: Call for Dance Artists, Curators and Researchers (Georgia)

Dancing Together, Again!

Poland’s National Institute of Music and Dance has announced the first call for applications for the ‘Dancing Together, Again!’ creative residency project implemented under the Creative Europe programme. Its main objectives include cultural exchange, interaction between artists, producers and dance researchers with an emphasis on the creative process and integration with local communities.

The programme includes residencies organised from 2023-2024 in Georgia, Croatia, Italy, and Poland, respectively. The first of the residencies, i.e. the one to which this call for applications pertains, will take place in Tbilisi, Georgia, between 29 May – 17 June 2023. It will be co-organised by the National Institute of Music and Dance and the Arts Research Institute of Georgia. Its topic will be the study of audience development models. Participants will gather data based on interviews with the local community, and then creatively transform the findings into original artistic statements. The residency will be curated by Prof. Dr. Levan Khetaguri and Prof. Dr. Iuri Mgebrishvili.

The project is addressed to all people involved in dance who work in one of 3 groups:

  • Artist – choreographers and dancers.
  • Curator – producers, organizers and presenters.
  • Researcher – philosophers, theorists, historians, critics, documentarians and kinetographers.

This call for application involves no restrictions based on age, cultural background or special needs. The organisers will provide participants with adequate space for creative work, accommodation, food, insurance, stipend, and reimbursement of transportation costs.

Residency participants will be selected in the course of calls for applications organised simultaneously in all partner countries: Georgia, Croatia, Italy, and Poland.
