L’Académie des Traces. Comprendre, questionner et changer le passé, le présent et l’avenir des héritages coloniaux est une formation adressée aux jeunes chercheur.e.s, jeunes professionnel.le.s de musée et commissaires indépendant.e.s pour mieux comprendre le défi sociétal majeur que représentent les collections coloniales conservées par les musées en Occident.

The Haas and Steidinger Craft & Design Residency invites five artists or cultural professionals to St. Georgen in the heart of Black Forest for five months between 1 October 2023 – 29 February 2024. Applications are open to artists or cultural professionals over 18 years old, active and experienced in craft and design, applied to cultural heritage, architecture, scenography and legally residing in one of the 40 Creative Europe countries (except for Germany).

The Spyro residency programme offers researchers an opportunity to work around St. Spyridon Chapel, a pre-revolutionary monument undergoing regeneration. The residency will take place 9-30 April 2024, with online sessions once a month during January – March 2024. Applicants must legally reside in one of the 40 Creative Europe countries, excepting Greece.

With funding from the Volkswagen Foundation’s Lower Saxony ‘Vorab’ programme, the HBK Braunschweig is offering a one-year curatorial scholarship starting 1 April 2024. The successful candidate is expected to work with a museum or other art institution in Lower Saxony to conceptualise an exhibition project of his/her own.

NEMO has issued a call for participation to encourage increased participation of museum colleagues from Central-Eastern Europe to join the NEMO European Museum Conference 2023. The call is targeted at museum professionals active in Central-Eastern Europe who have an interest in the topic of sustainability and climate action as well as a commitment to European collaboration and enthusiasm for international networking.

Paper proposals and creative texts are invited for the international symposium ‘Before, Behind and Beyond the Wave: Korean Popular Culture in Perspective’ on Friday 24 November 2023 in Leuven, Belgium.

Eurocities, the network of major European cities, is recruiting a project coordinator to work on the European Heritage Hub project. The candidate would ideally start on 2 May 2023.

In autumn 2023, the National Gallery of Denmark (Statens Museum for Kunst, SMK) will open an exhibition by the acclaimed artist Jessie Kleemann (1959-) - the first solo exhibition by a Kalaaleq artist organised by the museum. The seminar will feature two poster sessions for which SMK now seek proposals. With these sessions, they aim to engage younger researchers, artists, and art students in order to build bridges between senior and emerging researchers and to unfold the seminar theme in the fullest.

Gerda Henkel Fellowship-Programme aims at supporting four German museums holding African collections in their engagement to decolonise their museum practice and to foster a new ethics of collaboration with the African continent. The current call is for a fellowship at the Museum am Rothenbaum - Kulturen und Künste der Welt (MARKK) in Hamburg, starting in April 2023.

4A_Lab invites excellent early career and mid-career scholars to apply for Berlin-based residential fellowships (10 to 15 months). Applications are open in the framework of the 2019 – 2024 focus theme, ‘Aesthetics, Art and the Ecology of Plants: Environmental, Social, and non-Human Perspectives’, as well as in the general research framework of the 4A_Lab: Art Histories, Archaeologies, Anthropologies, Aesthetics, studied critically with and through archives, collections, and environments.

SAWA Museum Studies Programme is a diversity-oriented museum educational programme for young professionals in Arabic-speaking countries and Germany. The programme is divided into two stages: an up to ten days visit to Sharjah and a corresponding same length visit to Berlin.
