ASEF culture36’s Recalibrating the Compass: New Approaches to Asia-Europe Cultural Relations is a new publication presenting the key findings and recommendations that emerged from their Recalibrating the Compass roundtable series.

ASEF culture360 announces the publication of the E-connector on digital arts and humanities, the second in a series of online resources on the culture and creative industries, digitisation of arts and humanities and cultural mobility in Asia and Europe. This project was commissioned by ASEF culture360 and researched by On the Move with the contribution of the Luxembourg Agency for Cultural Affairs and Planting Rice.

Creative Responses to Sustainability is part of a new ASEF series of guides looking at creative responses to sustainability in different countries in Asia.The guides, commissioned by ASEF culture360 and authored by Yasmine Ostendorf, map cultural initiatives across Singapore and South Korea engaging with social and environmental issues.

Motivated by the fact that “the European Union has no cultural relations strategy”, the European Commission mandated in 2011 a consortium of eight cultural organisations, institutes, and a consultancy to propose such a strategy. The final report is now online.

The Asia-Europe Foundation (ASEF) has published ‘Linking the Arts to Environment and Sustainable Development Issues’ (April 2012), a report that gathers case studies form nine Asian countries (India, Myanmar, Thailand, Laos, Cambodia, Vietnam, Malaysia, Mongolia, Singapore).

The WorldCP Asia, being currently developed by the Asia-Europe Foundation, is part of this worldwide database of country-specific profiles of cultural policies.

The New Media Workers Research Platform, which happened in Shanghai, China, in 2010, explored the living and working conditions of new media workers in Asia and Europe. A group of new media practitioners, artists and civil society organisers, discussed and researched the transformations taking place in the web-based industries in the two regions.

The Asia-Europe Foundation (ASEF) and On-the-Move.org announce the publication of a new report Mapping Asia-Europe Cultural Cooperation. This study was carried out by Judith Staines and maps the Asia-Europe government-to-government bilateral cultural agreements between ASEM country partners.
