Supporting emergence in the performing arts: what do we really need?
Starting from the example of inspiring approaches and testimonies, this participative conversation will allow us to identify the first needs of emerging artists and professionals in a complex environment and to share knowledge about possible and effective forms of support for their development.

Since its creation in 1965, the Cité internationale des arts has been a haven of hospitality par excellence for artists from all over the world, from all disciplines, all generations and all backgrounds. In a context of accelerating societal transformations, the foundation wishes to open up the reflection on the role of artist residencies and mobility.
The Cultural Policy Designers Network co-hosted a Roundtable Discussion with Creative Manchester to explore the impact of Brexit on artists’ mobility. This included a focus on the structural barriers to mobility, as well as the changing landscape of cultural relations. CPDN was represented through Tom Fleming, who moderated the session, and Toni Attard, who spoke of the changing cultural relations and mobility landscape.
