Created in close collaboration with the artist David Franklin through a staff exchange with Art Motile, On the Move is pleased to share a visual mapping of the 750+ news articles it shared on its website in 2016.
This concise document presents data about the type of cultural mobility funding opportunities the network is signposting, the disciplines they cover, as well as the regional origin of funding and its various destinations in terms of regional beneficiaries. On the Move’s news articles cover a wide range of topics related to mobility, from calls for funding, residencies, jobs in the cultural sector, training opportunities, and meetings / collaborations.
This analysis of On the Move news (which does not include the regular funding schemes included in the cultural mobility funding guides) aims to provide a snapshot of the nature, contents, and flow of cultural mobility in Europe and around the world as captured throughout the year by On the Move’s information monitoring system.
The analysis was inspired by a report made in 2013 of On the Move’s newsletter contents by Alvaro de Salvo during a staff exchange with On the Move member-organisation RES ARTIS, with data support by DutchCulture/TransArtists.
