The Clark – an art museum in Williamstown, Massachusetts – is inviting applications for its fellowship programme, including three fellowships titled ‘Caribbean Art and Its Diasporas’, ‘Critical Race Theory and Visual Culture Fellowship’, and ‘Futures Fellowship’.

The ALTA Emerging Translator Mentorship Programme is designed to establish and facilitate a close working relationship between an experienced translator and an emerging translator on a project selected by the emerging translator. The mentorship duration is approximately nine months and the programme culminates with a visit to the ALTA conference.

Based in Saint-Edmond-de-Grantham in Quebec, Grantham Foundation supports artistic productions and art research on art that tackle environmental challenges in the Anthropocene age. Its residency programme is open to researchers and runs over an approximately 12-month cycle and includes a 4-week stay at the Foundation (within January - August 2022). Duos can apply.

Part of the ATLAS Institute at the University of Colorado Boulder, the Unstable Design Lab is hosting its second experimental weaving residency with the goal of developing new techniques and open source resources that can co-evolve fiber arts and engineering practice. The residency scheduling is flexible but should total 12 weeks and should take place between January and May 2022.

Chercheurs d’art is organising a residency of 4 to 5 weeks at the Centre d’Art et de Recherche de Mana (CARMA), in French Guiana, around the theme ‘design, furniture, wood’. The residency is aimed at professional or emerging visual artists working in the field of wood sculpture and/or furniture, design, cabinet making. The residency will begin 11 October 2021 (or at another agreed time).

Founded in 1973, Garth Newel Music Center is one of the most active chamber music organizations in the USA. Its resident ensemble – the Garth Newel Piano Quartet – performs over 60 concerts annually both at the Center and on tour. Through this competition, the Quartet seeks to broaden the piano quartet repertoire and to support the Center’s ongoing commitment to contemporary music.

Princeton Arts Fellows spend two consecutive academic years (September 1 - July 1) at Princeton University and formal teaching is expected. The normal work assignment will be to teach one course each semester, but fellows may be asked to take on an artistic assignment in lieu of a class, such as directing a play or creating a dance with students. One need not be a U.S. citizen to apply. Holders of Ph.D. degrees from Princeton are not eligible to apply.

The 2022 HBI Artist Program provides an artist the opportunity to have a solo exhibition for twelve weeks at the Kniznick Gallery at Brandeis University. In addition to the physical exhibition in the gallery, the HBI Artist exhibition will be viewable online and have an accompanying printed exhibition catalogue.

The International Studio & Curatorial Program (ISCP) announces an open call for a fully funded three-month residency for a curator from the Global South, including a stipend for travel and housing, supported by the Jane Farver Memorial Fund.

The Brazilian organisation Silo - Arte e Latitude Rural is inviting artists, curators and scientists willing to work in Art and Science to apply for the programme ‘Resilience: artist in residence’, which will take place between between 22 August – 12 September 2021 in the Environmental Protection Area of Serrinha do Alambari and on the Itatiaia National Park’s plateau.

ThoughtWorks Arts, a global technology research lab, and CounterPulse, an experimental and interdisciplinary dance and performance space in San Francisco, are partnering to launch a new artistic residency opportunity working with a customisable network on-site at CounterPulse’s facility in downtown San Francisco. This sixteen week residency is open to artists and collectives and will run from 27 September 2021 – 4 February 2022. It can be undertaken in person or remotely.

A joint initiative spearheaded and curated by Ginkgo Bioworks and design agency Faber Futures, the Ginkgo Creative Residency (GCR) provides an experimental platform for creative thinkers to explore both the potential and implications of synthetic biology. The next residency will run from 1 September – 30 November 2021, and can take place in-person or remotely.
