  • Critical Mass > Artist in Residence Programme for Socially Engaged Artists
    Critical Mass, a contemporary art centre based in Port Hope, is offering socially engaged contemporary artists a paid two- or four-week residency. Residencies will take place in the organisation’s Little Station (a mid-1850s former train station) between 15 April – 15 October 2020. ‘Environment’ is the chosen theme of the 2020 programme. Canadian or international artists are invited to apply, and applications can come from individuals or groups. Deadline: 28 February 2020.

    Mitchell Art Gallery is inviting Canadian and international artists to apply for the second year of the MAG Summer Residency programme. Applicants with interdisciplinary, non-traditional creative practices are encouraged to apply. The residency runs for four to six weeks, taking place between 15 May – 15 August 2020. The residency works to support an artist with space and time to initiate or further a body of work, and bridge their practice with a local community. Deadline: 1 March 2020.

    LACMA – Los Angeles Country Museum of Art’s Art’s Technology Lab supports artists to pursue new directions in their work that explore ideas in technology and culture. In addition to a grant, artists receive advice and assistance from the museum and from their technology advisors including innovation leaders from Hyundai, Accenture, Snap Inc., SpaceX, Google, Jet Propulsion Laboratories, and the MIT Media Lab’s Space Exploration Initiative.
