The Tom Majors Fund brings world class artists to Key West, Florida who work wholly or in part with wood, and supports the ones in the area already doing so. Proposals are sought for programmes to take place October 2020 - June 2021. Programmes should include a public component – e.g. an exhibition, workshop, lecture or some combination – but may include the creation of new work. Deadline: 15 September 2020.

The residency schedule will see participants visit six countries in the period May – June 2021 and September – November 2021. The open call is aimed at artists and cultural practitioners based in Uruguay (nationwide), Chile (nationwide), Brazil (São Paulo/Estado), France (nationwide), Germany (Munich) and Finland (nationwide). The Arts/Industry programme in Sheboygan, Wisconsin connects artists with the resources, technology, and materials of the manufacturing company Kohler Co., providing a place to explore new ideas, processes, and perspectives. Halcyon Arts Lab (Washington, DC) offers a five-month residential fellowship designed to provide support and resources to emerging artists working on projects which address issues of social justice, civic engagement, and community building. Franklin Furnace awards annual grants to early career artists selected by peer panel review to enable them to produce major performance art works in New York. Artists from all areas of the world are encouraged to apply; however, artists selected by the panel are expected to present their work in New York City. Full-time students are ineligible. The 45th Annual Conference of the Caribbean Studies Association (CSA) will take place in Georgetown, Guyana, 1-5 June 2020. The topic of this year’s conference is ‘Identity Politics, Industry, Ecology and the Intelligent Economy in Caribbean Societies’. A limited number of travel grants are available for artists and writers from under-resourced Greater Caribbean nations who have a relevant proposal for the conference programme. 92Y’s International Jewelry Artist Residency is a juried residency for cutting edge, emerging and established jewelry artists to develop their work in the multifaceted New York City art scene. Running 19 August – 20 September 2020, the Residency will provide the opportunity for an international artist with a studio-based practice to develop a new body of work or complete research while engaging with New York’s cultural community. The Brown International Writers Project is currently seeking nominations and applications for its one-year fellowship with residency. The Fellowship is designed to provide sanctuary and support for established creative writers – fiction writers, playwrights, and poets – who are persecuted in their home countries or are actively prevented from pursuing free expression in their literary art. Writers may apply for themselves or be nominated by a third party. Deadline: 1 March 2020.

Visegrad Fund is supporting four artist residencies (one for each V4 country) at Art in General, an exhibition and residency space in Brooklyn, New York. The residency period is approximately 3 months, taking place between August and October 2020.
