Founded in 2013, AAMC Foundation’s Mentorship Programme gives early- to mid- career curators (Mentees) opportunities to advance their professional development, learn about important issues in the field, share ideas and cultivate strong bonds with peers, and develop a working relationship with a senior curator (Mentors). Up to 10 Mentees with a required minimum of at least 3-5 years of curatorial experience in the field will be selected through a competitive application process for a career advancement experience.

Soho House Art Prize is a new global initiative that will give one artist the chance to create their own installation at Soho Beach House during Miami Art Basel, in December 2020. The organisers encourage ‘left-field ideas: performance, intervention and reimagining what an installation might look and feel like’. Deadline: 26 July 2020.

Pépinières Européennes de Création and the Quebec Co-operative Méduse are launching a call for applications for two residencies supporting writing, curatorial, research-creation, or production projects in one or more disciplines of the visual and media/digital arts. The residencies will take place January-March 2021 and April-June 2021 in Quebec City. The call is primarily aimed at emerging artists, and artists must hold a citizenship other than Canadian. CoMciência is the science communication programme of the Mines and Metal Museum – MM Gerdau in Belo Horizonte, Brazil. It has launched an open call, ‘Science Awareness: Occupation with Art, Science and Technology’, for artistic/scientific proposals that can be exhibited at MM Gerdau from 3 December 2020 – 14 March 2021, as well as presented virtually/online. En el marco del proyecto “Laboratorio de Interactividad Corporal”, cheLA en colaboración con REMAP/UCLA y gracias al apoyo del Programa Iberescena invita a participar a un grupo interdisciplinario de creadores, de una residencia destinada a la formación, investigación y realización de una obra que vincule las artes escénicas y performáticas con las artes tecnológico-interactivas. Dirigida a creadores/as de las artes performáticas (danza, teatro), multimediales, manejo de hardware y software, programación, videomapping, robótica y otros; que sean mayores de 18 años y tengan residencia en cualquiera de los siguientes países: Argentina, Bolivia, Brasil, Colombia, Costa Rica, Chile, Ecuador, El Salvador, España, México, Panamá, Paraguay, Perú o Uruguay. The CCCADI Curatorial Fellowship in Afro-Caribbean Art is dedicated to emerging curators of colour committed to the artistic and cultural production of the Afro-Caribbean and its Diaspora, including the Dutch, English, French, and Spanish-speaking Caribbean. The year-long Curatorial Fellowship will provide mentorship, curatorial training, and institutional support to ten Fellows. The 2020-2021 Fellowship launches in August 2020 with its flagship programme, the Summer Intensive (New York City, 2-8 August 2020). Deadline: 10 June 2020.

The developer MIRA and arts consultancy MASSIVart invite national and international artists to develop a proposal for a permanent public artwork to be located in the public plaza of MIRA’s latest real estate development in Mexico City: Neuchâtel’s Cuadrante Polanco. It is expected that construction of the final selected project will take place October 2020 – March 2021. Deadline: 29 June 2020.

The Studio Museum in Harlem is offering an eleven-month studio residency – beginning 1 October 2020 and ending 1 September 2021 – for three emerging visual artists of African or Afro-Latinx descent working in any media. Applications are open internationally, but applicants will have to arrange their own visa for their stay in the United States. Deadline: 1 May 2020.

Le Goethe-Institut du Chili et l’Institut français du Chili proposent un programme de résidences artistiques pour cinq duos franco-allemands. Chaque duo mènera un travail de recherche en collaboration avec le lieu de résidence chilien qui le recevra pendant un mois. Les disciplines recherchées sont : arts visuels, arts de la scène, art sonore, arts médiaux, architecture, urbanisme. Un intérêt sera spécialement porté sur les axes de réflexion suivants : art et science, environnement et artivisme, territoire et conflits, participation citoyenne. In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, Contemporary Calgary’s latest Collider residency will be run as an experimental In-Residence Artist Residency, facilitated via virtual interactions and workshops, running 4 May – 15 June 2020. In-Residence artists will realise at least one individual work, one public programme that the artist is expected to execute, and one work developed collaboratively with other residents. Applications are welcome from local, national and international contemporary artists, working in the fields of visual art, arts writing, sound, film, photography, design and performance. V2_, Lab for the Unstable Media is an interdisciplinary centre for art and media technology in Rotterdam (the Netherlands). Its Summer Sessions are short-term international art and technology residencies for emerging artists and designers, taking place at institutions in six countries. Residencies last approximately eight weeks and take place between June and September. Applications are open to artists from the sponsoring countries: Taiwan, Spain, South Korea, Croatia, China, and Argentina. Deadline: 1 May 2020.
