Access and Reciprocity: A brainstorming meeting between cultural mobility funders and stakeholders and the Asia- Australia-Europe Creative Residency Network, took place on 12 May morning in Melbourne, Australia.
On the Move was approached by the Australia Council for the Arts, host and co-organiser of the IETM Asia Satellite Meeting to facilitate the brainstorming meeting between cultural mobility funders and stakeholders from Europe, Asia and Australia. This event was organised in cooperation with RES ARTIS and Asialink partners of the Inaugural Meeting of the Asia Europe Australia Creative Residency Network.
This meeting was a follow-up of the Platform meeting of Asian and European cultural mobility funders, held in Prague on 5-6 June 2013 (co-organised with Arts and Theatre Institute-Czech Republic and Kelola Foundation-Indonesia with the support of the Asia-Europe Creative Encounters programme).
This brainstorming meeting between key mobility funders and stakeholders as well as the participants of the Asia-Australia-Europe Creative Residency Network in the region were asked through presentations and working group sessions:
- What issues do funding bodies need to be made aware of, in order to better service those who depend on mobility support – ie. the arts residency field?
- What new partnerships are required to adapt current funding models to address established needs?
‐ Is a reciprocal model guaranteeing a more sustainable, diverse and meaningful exchange?
‐ What can non-monetary solutions (i.e. information pooling, tool sharing) offer?
